Cameo has always prided himself on introducing fresh artists, mcs or singers and producers to the UK Urban music scene.
He is recognized by many as one of the only Dj’s who is always out there putting in the time and hard work in terms of finding, identifying, nurturing and breaking the new talent. He has a strong belief in UK talent and will strive to any lengths to bring them to the forefront.
Since 2001 Cameo has been instrumental in showcasing and breaking artists such as Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, Crazy Cousins, Kano, Lethal B, SLK, Crazy Titch, J2K, Charley, Sadie, KT Pearl, D Double E to name a few.
Cameo began his DJing career back in 1997 playing in local bars and clubs in West London. His main influences at that time were UK Garage pioneers Tuff Jam, EZ and the Dreem Teem. Lots of hard work, practice and a bit of luck landed Cameo a set on London's Taste FM. This allowed him to be heard on the UK underground music scene and to gain experience in working on a radio station. With success on Taste FM Cameo also featured on other pirate stations such as Delight FM, Ice FM and Lush Fm. This provided priceless knowledge of the underground music scene, which would later help Cameo to firmly establish himself as the key tastemaker for British Urban Music.
In 2001 Cameo secured a job at Uptown records, one of Europe’s biggest underground music stores and has since gone on to become a co-director of the store, which recently won 2 back to back awards as the UK’s best independent record shop @ The Peoples Choice Awards.
Cameo was voted winner of the "Best Newcomer" Award by the British Public for 2004’s “Sidewinder Peoples Choice Awards" held in London. Cameo also received an award on behalf of Uptown Records winner of “Best Record Shop”.
Cameo has established himself as one of the most popular DJs and presenter in the UK by playing at various events around the country and also with his regular show on BBC 1xtra. Early residencies include the biggest UKG events such as Twice as Nice, Sidewinder, Liberty, Smoove, Run The Road and La Cosa Nostra.
2009 saw Cameo sign to established live music talent agency Coda. A “Dj Cameo Presents” tour is planned for
2010 and he continues to be one of the busiest urban dj’s in club land.
Cameo has been on BBC 1Xtra for a number of years now and has a huge listenership. His show on BBC 1Xtra is now recognized by both the public and the industry as a key tastemaking show for Urban music.
He has partaken in various BBC events Urban Classic in 2006, an extraordinary music event which brought urban street stars such as Bruza Purple Pace Tor Faith Sfx and Da vin che together with the BBC symphony orchestra for a breath taking performance @ The Hackney Empire.
2010 will see him play at the BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra Big Weekend in Bangor and event deemed by many as one of the biggest in the music calendar.
You can hear DJ Cameo on BBC Radio 1xtra every Tuesday night from 10pm-1am covering the best in new UKG Grime/Sublo, 2 Step and 4/4 bass line house and Showcasing the hottest new MC and producer talent.

Cameo established a number of clubnights including “Sex On The Beach” which is now a staple club night in the party island of Ayia Napa in Cyprus.
2010 will see a Sky TV documentary covering Cameo’s influence on the islands music scene.
As a DJ, Cameo was bound to enter into the production side of things eventually. The music Cameo was producing varied from 2 step vocals, r n g, to 4/4, to grime, sublow, eski and just as his DJing style he tried to cover the scene on a whole and not just stick to one genre of Garage music.
In 2001 he teamed up with Danny C and MC Viper to produce "Addicted". Cameo then got involved with the scene's hottest new producer J-Sweet to produce the successful underground track "Hi Grade" that was then signed to the MOBO 2002 compilation, and then the 2003 Garage anthem "Original Bad Girl Style" featuring UK Artist Gemma Fox for Ministry of Sound’s “Street Beats” compilation album.
Cameo soon began working with artists and producers such as DaVinChe, Terror Dangah, P-Jam, Dexplicit, Vital, Delinquent, TnT, J-Sweet, IMP, Jiggalo, Black Jack and Scandalous.
